Composer/pianist Robert Bruce performs his live original score to the 1927 silent drama, light-comedy film "It" starring Clara Bow on Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 8 pm at Theatre Aquarius Studio, Hamilton, Ontario.
Based on a Novella by Elinor Glyn that was originally serialized in Cosmopolitan magazine, this was the film that turned actress Clara Bow into a major star and led people to henceforth label her "The IT Girl". A brilliant and well-played drama - light comedy that allows Clara Bow to really shine, "It" was, of course, the 1920s code word for sex appeal.
Composer/pianist Robert Bruce's live score for "It" follows the story and action pretty closely, weaving in and out of a variety of musical moods and styles ranging from the "Jazz Age" sounds popular in the 20s to more reflective and descriptive neo-classical pieces which have somewhat become his own musical trademark.
