Following successful runs in the Montreal and Milan clown festivals, Yury Ruzhyev returns as Blini in No Elephant Show: a clown’s journey into oneself. This playful meditation on the life of a struggling artist is an uproarious whirlwind of ingenuous emotions, unpredictable audience play, splattering paint, hilarious seduction, and extreme whimsy.
Watch Blini laugh, cry, obsess, search for love, crack himself open, and release the circus inside. Watch the audience steer the action in unexpected new directions every night. Watch the undisguised transformation under the mask of a clown and join in on the beautiful, melancholy, and riotous journey for self-discovery.
Written and performed by Yury Ruzhyev, a trained theatre actor and circus performer (B. Shukin Theatre School, Moscow; Ecole Philippe Gaulier, Paris; Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance, Canada), with years of performing experience all around the world. Directed by Allan Turner, Co-Artistic Director of the Toronto Festival of Clowns, a faculty member at The Second City Training Centre, with twenty years of experience as a comic actor and clown.
