As we announce our 2017/18 season we are thrilled to receive five Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations for our 16/17 season, including Outstanding New Play for Diane Flacks' Unholy, Outstanding Production, Ensemble and Sound Design/Composition for Quote Unquote Collective's Mouthpiece and Outstanding Sound Design for Mike Renaldi's work in Quiver, by Anna Chatterton. Congratulations to all of the artists involved. We are so proud to have staged this beautiful work.
Our 2017/18 Season unveils four World Premiere productions and revives two wildly successful, box office hits. We are delighted to share this new season of Theatre by Women, Made for Everyone!
Artistic Director Kelly Thornton says, "In a world that seems more and more polarized on the political stage, today’s artists are inciting a powerful conversation in response. Unpacking the massive issues around sexuality, race, class, religion, politics and gender, our playwrights grapple with what fundamentally unites us - even in the face of what divides or oppresses us. Nothing is simple as we struggle to understand our collective histories and possible futures, but the notion of art as a resilient material with which to build bridges is a sound one."

Quote Unquote Collective's stunning production, Mouthpiece, will return for a limited engagement in April! Recently awarded Best Canadian Play by the Toronto Theatre Critics Awards, and nominated for three Dora Awards, Mouthpiece is leaving audiences astounded and wanting more.
A harrowing, humorous and heart-wrenching journey into the female psyche. In the wake of her mother’s death, Mouthpiece follows one woman, for one day, as she tries to find her voice. Interweaving a cappella harmonies, dissonance, text and physicality, two performers express the inner conflict that exists within a modern woman’s head.
