Launched in July 2016, the Women of Musical Theatre Festival is a celebration of the women of musical theatre, both on and offstage. Founded by Marion Abbott, CEO of Marion Abbott Productions, the festival is an effort to highlight the female contribution to the musical theatre discipline and give more opportunities to musical theatre performers in Toronto.
“With this festival, we are determined to shine the brightest light on the incredible female talent residing in our city and in this genre, past and present” stated Abbott.
