A musical celebration of boy bands, "You Want It What Way? A Boy Band Tale." will be making it's world premiere from November 24th-26th, 2017 at the 918 Bathurst Centre for the Cultural Arts.
From The Beatles to One Direction, boy bands have been dominating the pop music charts for the last half century, inspiring mania amongst teenage girls and one specific twenty-eight year old man: Producer and Director Brian Jansen.
"Why did I do this?" mused Jansen, "Why did I pour countless hours and spend thousands of dollars of my money to tell the world how much I love boy bands? That's definitely something I'm trying to figure out with my therapist."
Featuring high energy-singing, dancing and hilarious sketch comedy, the show will explore the power that boy bands have to change lives, how to reconcile boy band membership with encroaching middle age, and what it's like for the other members of NSYNC to live in the massive shadow of Justin Timberlake.
"You Want It What Way? A Boy Band Tale" stars professional dancers and actors Adam Martino, Brian Jansen, Wesley Tysdale, Axel Roman Allioux and Ilya Bodaykin. it is directed by Brian Jansen, choreographed by Adam Martino and written by comedian Leonard Chan.
