After selling out numerous shows at the Toronto Fringe, The Next Stage Theatre Festival, and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Songbuster - An Improvised Musical returns to Comedy Bar for a three day, loved-inspired Valentine's day run.
Whether you love love, or want to laugh at its expense, Songbuster has the show for you! Each performance the cast of incredible, award-winning improvisers will create a brand new musical full of romance, meet cute, unrequited love, and stomach butterflies on the spot. Audience suggestions are transformed into all-singing, all-dancing shows with surprising and hysterical results.
Clever, fast-paced and extremely funny, Songbuster creates an hour long love-inspired musical from suggestions provided by the audience. Not only do they create the music and words from thin air, but they also create a world full of engaging characters and captivating stories you won’t soon forget (even though you will never be able to see them again). With numerous musical credits to
the casts’ name and 50+ years of comedy experience between them, the cast of Songbuster have a strong history of entertaining audiences with music and comedy, and are guaranteed to wow even the most discerning audience.
This experienced cast has been entertaining and dazzling Toronto
comedy audiences for years. Created in the summer of 2015 by
Stephanie Malek (Sex T-Rex’s D&D Live) and Josh Murray (Second
City Touring Company), this improvised musical is directed by Tom
King. Joining Malek and Murray in the cast are Ashley Comeau
(Second City Mainstage), Tricia Black (Sketchersons), Kyah Green
(Kinsey Fail), Alexandra Hurley (Murder in The Cottonwoods), Nug
Nahrgang (Evil Dead! The Musical), Nicky Nasrallah (Second City
House Company), Connor Thompson (Second City Mainstage), and Jenna
Warriner (CMT’s Hottest).
