With a 20-year career, including many hit plays like THE TRIAL OF KEN GASS and THE MARKET, Bobby Del Rio is eager to remount his newest play POWER STRUGGLE – about a female CEO who gets involved in a power struggle with a male colleague. Dark themes such as rape, infidelity and patriarchy are involved in this intense drama about the sacrifices women must make in order to achieve the highest level of success in the corporate world.
Bobby’s last play, PROFESSIONALLY ETHNIC, was performed at SummerWorks 2017. NOW Magazine named it among the best productions of the festival, including it on lists for: OUTSTANDING PLAY, OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION and OUTSTANDING ENSEMBLE.
POWER STRUGGLE stars a talented cast of Adriana Villi, Jsin Sasha, Rico Garcia (PROFESSIONALLY ETHNIC), Sonia Suvagau and Philip Shipley. It is produced by INCLUDE Studios. It is written/directed by Bobby Del Rio.
The play will be performed in 2 consecutive weekends at the brand new Origami Theatre (109 Wolseley – 1 block North of Bathurst & Queen). The theatre seats only 40 people, so please buy in advance to guarantee a seat! All tickets are $20. The play opens Friday November 9th @ 8pm – and closes Sunday November 18th @ 2pm.
