The production is made up of a collection of three holiday radio plays:

MY FRIEND IRMA SHOW – CHRISTMAS EPISODE (1950)
Irma, who has no family is New York City, wishes to throw a Christmas Eve surprise party for her friends; however, they all already have other plans. Distressed, she heads to the train station to find a way home to her family. Meanwhile, upset that Irma will be alone, her friends decide to cancel their plans and throw a surprise dinner for her. The problem is… they can’t find Irma! (https://www.genericradio.com/show/3df6c86969973eff)
FATHER KNOWS BEST – CHRISTMAS PROGRAM (1953)
It’s Christmas Eve and Jim’s family still does not have a tree. Fearing that the true meaning of Christmas is lost, Jim decides that the family will go cut down their tree rather than buying one. When the family gets stuck in a snowstorm, they are forced to seek assistance from the first store they find. Soon it becomes clear that the weather will prevent them from heading home and the family discovers joy in celebrating the holiday with new friends.(http://www.genericradio.com/show/SOHOMUYSI)
CAST:
We are casting an ensemble of SIX ACTORS to play multiple roles. Actors should be able to portray characters of varying ages (a range from child to senior is ideal but anything in the middle is good too!) and should be comfortable switching between roles quite quickly.
PREPARATION:
Please review recordings of radio plays online. This is a period piece and the performance will try to evoke the performance style of the 1940s/50s. Audition scenes are available on request; they do not need not be memorized.
TO BOOK AN AUDITION: Please email a copy of your headshot and resume to villageplayersauditions@gmail.com with your preferred date, time and contact information. Please also bring a hardcopy of your resume and headshot (photocopy is ok) to your audition.
