THIS MONTH'S GUEST PERFORMERS
Winner of Canadian comedy awards and the alter-ego of comedian Isaac Winter, MARTY TOPPS is a song and dance-man. Synth, keytar, sweat and passion are what you can expect at a Marty Topps show. A favourite of music festivals across North America and probably the universe, we’re lucky to have Marty pour his heart out for us about his life, his wife Jean Pants and his love of Tapout clothes and Jeep automobiles. A member of Toronto’s renowned Laugh Sabbath comedy collective, Marty has been featured on both Funny or Die and Rogers TV’s NightTime. “He sang songs of tacos, infidelity and genitals with the grace and nuance of a goat giving birth to a helicopter. “ Exclaim!
TWOSON are / is Jackie Twomey and Devon Henderson. A fave and repeat guest of Shenanigans Comedy Night, TwoSon is a sketch and improv duo. Jackie is the blonder one and Devon is the shorter one. They claim to be interchangeable otherwise. With appearances from Seattle to Toronto to Montreal to Vancouver, this 2017 Toronto Sketch Festival ’Sketchiest Sketch Troupe’ award-winning duo are two best friends and ardent rule-followers. Devon and Jackie are real-life squares and describe their show as quippy (not a word) and “a little too much.”
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
With 100 years of collective comedy experience between them, THE COINCIDENCE MEN are Kerry Griffin, Ralph MacLeod, Gord Oxley and Marcel St. Pierre. Respected vets, teachers and coaches in Toronto’s improv, sketch and comedy “scene" since the early 1980s, they've been individually involved with Canadian Comedy Award-winning groups like Monkey Toast and Slap Happy and the sketch-comedy-Gemini-Award winning comedy duo Fast n Dirty. With appearances on CBC, The Comedy Network, YTV and more, they've been founding alumni and creative forces behind Toronto's much-loved Bad Dog Theatre Company. All are alums of Theatresports, three of them are Second City alums, and another one founded and runs The Social Capital Theatre. "Serious comedic heavyweights" (Toronto Star) "NNNN" (Now Magazine) "Pure confidence... surefire comedy" (Mooney on Theatre )
