The National Arts Centre is proud to announce a new event designed specifically for children and their families. The BIG BANG Festival will be held here for the very first time on Sunday the 17th and Monday the 18th of February, 2019 – two days of adventures in sound and music during an enjoyable and colourful musical trip in the middle of winter. Don’t miss out on these inventive shows!

The name says it all: the BIG BANG Festival will blow your socks off! Come along and experience the fascinating world of music, sound and the arts through all kinds of lighthearted and innovative activities and concerts. BIG BANG, which is presented in many European countries, will make its North American debut in Ottawa! The NAC team is busy putting together a stunning array of outstanding Canadian performers, together with a few impressive international artists to spice things up! In addition to the concert hall performances, the Festival program includes all kinds of free events.
Two shows you won’t want to miss
Here’s the scoop on two shows that are sure to be among the top BIG BANG attractions. First, Alexander Shelley and the NAC Orchestra will share the stage with puppeteer and shadow theatre specialist Marcelle Hudon, in a dynamic and visually surprising concert called Nimble Fingers. Then, following their popular shows Listen to the Silence and Slumberland, the inimitable Zonzo Compagnie band returns to Ottawa with Mile(s)tones, an interactive performance that plays around with music by the great Miles Davis. Come and enjoy the amazing and entertaining musicians and performers who are coming to the BIG BANG Festival on Sunday, the 17th of February and on Family Day, Monday the 18th!
