Shelley has been invited to share her acclaimed one-woman show, Hold Mommy’s Cigarette, to the largest Parenting Conference of its kind in Toronto: the Triple P Positive Parenting Program. For one night only, with limited seating. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Shelley’s newest Mental Wellness Project: Our Farmacy, a Healing Farm in the village of Bear River Nova Scotia where anyone can come visit for FREE.
Hold Mommy’s Cigarette explores Marshall’s own experience with suicide in equally powerful and comedic ways, bringing sold-out audiences to their feet in celebration of her story. Marshall toured the show across Ontario to raise funds and awareness for mental illness. Marshall shares, “I don’t believe I was ever mentally ill, I was simply mentally ill-equipped.” Shelley is no longer mentally able herself continue to share this story as a performance. “I have learned that relived trauma hurts the mind as much as the lived trauma once broke it”.
