Loose Tea Music Theatre’s popular improvised game-based opera show will be taking up a regular monthly slot at Bad Dog Comedy Theatre as part of their new Sunday night lineup. Each month on the 3rd Sunday at 9:30 pm, following the Alumni Show, Loose Tea’s professional opera singers will break out their improv skills in a series of games inspired by the popular TV show.
“Whose Opera Is It Anyway?” is a hilarious marriage of opera and comedy where professional opera singers will sing about the craziest and most ridiculous things, or perform a famous opera in under 3 minutes. Whether you’re an opera fan, or never seen opera before, you won’t want to miss this unique show featuring Canada’s only improv opera group!
This show is for everyone, and no previous knowledge of opera is necessary to appreciate this unique comedy- opera experience.
“An improvised opera show is something completely new to Toronto,” says Loose Tea Music Theatre Artistic Director, Alaina Viau. “It is electric and hilarious watching something like this unfold in front of your eyes.”
“Whose Opera Is It Anyway?” is hosted by Schmopera's Greg Finney, with Natasha Fransblow at the piano and Loose Tea’s cast of performers: Jeff Boyd, Amanda Cogan, Adanya Dunn, Gillian Grossman, Rachel Krehm, Jonathan MacArthur, Erin Stone, Lindsay Sutherland Boal and Michael York.
The Winter-Spring 2018 dates are February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20 and June 17, at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $12 and available online through http://baddogtheatre.com or at the door.
