Through a long-forgotten contract loophole, The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival must raise $3,000 by midnight on March 8th or the festival will be taken over by greedy Oil Tycoons and rebranded as OilFest. Directed by Ashley Comeau (Degrassi, People Suck) and featuring a cavalcade of stars including Gavin Crawford, Carson Pinch gives the performance of his life in CARSON SAVES SKETCHFEST.
In years previous, Carson Pinch brought hit shows like Carson Pinch Will Die and Balloon City: Escape from Balloon City to the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. After hundreds of balloons dropped, sold out shows, and numerous grisly deaths, Carson now gives back by raising enough money to save the festival he loves so much!
Joining the ensemble is one of Canada's brightest comedic and dramatic performers, Gavin Crawford. Perhaps best known for his roles on This Hour Has 22 Minutes and his eponymous The Gavin Crawford Show, Gavin now hosts Because News on CBC Radio. Gavin has also produced several one-man shows, including the sold-out Fringe Festival hit, “Friend” “Like” #Me.
Directed by Ashley Comeau (Degrassi, People Suck), Carson will also be joined by a talented cast featuring Leigh Cameron (32 Short Sketches About Bees), Mikaela Dyke (Good Morning Tonight), Colin Sharpe (The Sketchersons), Vance Banzo (Tallboys II Men), and other special guests.
A Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival Featured Series show, CARSON SAVES SKETCHFEST is a double bill alongside the Toronto Fringe Festival’s 2016 Patron Pick and Canadian Comedy Award-nominated troupe, Dame Judy Dench.
Carson Pinch is a Toronto-based multiple award-winning comedy writer and performer. Carson has performed all over North America and has been a member of Toronto sketch comedy legacy troupe The Sketchersons (Sunday Night Live) as well as O DAT DUM. Carson is also the Head Content Strategist and Co-Founder of Turbo Gulp, a best-in-class, cross-platform digital content platform.
