The campus party of the year sparks morning-after gossip, and a dangerous collision between self-interest and the truth. He said, she said, but what really happened that night? Loyalty and friendship give way to vicious ambition, class warfare and sexual politics. Gripping, provocative, and searingly funny, Really Really paints a dark and ambiguous portrait of ‘Generation Me’, where it’s every future leader for themselves. Written by Paul Downs Colaizzo (Screenwriter of Girls - HBO). Directed by Theatre and Drama Studies Alumnus Michael Bradley.
Bradley says “Really Really offers a cynical outlook on the world that young people are stepping into, with a seeming condemnation of a generation steeped in opportunism and self- interest. Yet, it is also perversely optimistic about their ability to navigate said world. It is not a play about truth, because ultimately what happened that night is not nearly as important as what will happen now. This is a play about ambition, about doing what I need to do now, for my future, at all cost. Morality, shame, guilt, love, friendship, everything is sacrificed at the altar of the future self.”
Really Really is the first Theatre Erindale production employing an Intimacy Director. Siobhan Richardson is the co-founder of Intimacy Directors International. She is quickly building an impressive resume in this field, including several directing and teaching credits across Canada, the USA with inquiries from across Europe.
