Canadian Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany, who stars in the BBC series Orphan Black, will be one of five actors to play the title role in the New York premiere of Tracy Letts' Mary Page Marlowe at Second Stage Theater this summer. Casting of the additional four actors will be announced at a later date.
Maslany’s film roles include Stronger with Jake Gyllenhaal, Two Lovers and a Bear, The Other Half, and The Woman in Gold, among others. She has been seen in the television shows Nativity, Flashpoint, and Parks and Recreation; and she has appeared onstage in Toronto in The Secret Garden, George Dandin, and A Christmas Carol, all at the Globe Theatre. Mary Page Marlowe marks her New York stage debut.
As previously announced, the Off-Broadway premiere of Mary Page Marlowe will be directed by Obie- and Drama Desk Award-winning director Lila Neugebauer (The Wolves, Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo). Performances are scheduled to begin June 19 in 2ST’s Tony Kiser Theater ahead of a July 12 opening night.
Mary Page Marlowe, which pieces together a portrait of a woman from key moments in her life, received its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre in 2016 with direction by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro. The production featured a 21-member cast including seven actors who shared the title role.
