Pop the champagne and get swept away on a Jazz Age journey of love, laughter and libation as the Tony® Award-winning musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone dances onto the stage at St. Jacobs Country Playhouse.
Filled with with upbeat jazz-inspired music, dazzling dancing and outrageous characters, The Drowsy Chaperone is a spectacular song and dance musical guaranteed to sweep you off your feet and keep you in stitches. It's also a show within a show – the lovable narrator known only as Man in Chair, puts on his favourite cast recording and the story comes to life around him.
We are thrilled to announce the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone! Stratford alumnus Mike Nadajewski is Man in Chair – he provides a hilarious running commentary including hysterical backstories about the fictitious performers and laugh-out-loud quips about the ridiculous plot lines as he giddily applauds the production numbers from his front row seat right on stage. From the very first line, his witty wisecracks leave no one unscathed, resulting in thunderous laughter from start to finish.
In addition to Nadajewski, a stellar cast of characters has been assembled for this fun-filled musical comedy including Jayme Armstrong as conflicted starlet Janet Van De Graaf, Kyle Golemba as her fiancé Robert Martin, Cliff Saunders as wily producer Mr. Feldzieg, Gabrielle Jones as Janet's inebriated Chaperone, Andrew Scanlon as self-proclaimed famed Latin lover Aldolpho, Glynis Ranney as the daffy wedding hostess, Mrs. Tottendale, funny man Keith Savage as her loyal butler, Underling, and many more!
