Civic Theatres Toronto relishes the opportunity to engage with the community by providing multi-disciplinary arts programming in our versatile spaces through education, creation, and performance programs – for all ages - in the communities they serve.
RupLoops: The Human Radio
RupLoops (featuring interdisciplinary artist/musician Rup Sidhu) is an interactive, live looping performance, using vocal percussion, rhythmic rhymes and an arsenal of eclectic instruments from around the globe to create a pulsating, entertaining and engaging musical experience.
Rup Sidhu is an interdisciplinary artist, musician, producer and composer. Specializing in vocal percussion and live looping, his sound blends the rhythms of poetry and spoken word with a dynamic range of cultural hybridity.

Storytelling and Dance
Join award-winning children’s author and acclaimed Inuit storyteller Michael Kusugak (A Promise is a Promise with Robert Munsch) along with two-time World Champion Hoop dancer Lisa Odjig and singer/ drummer Ian Akiwenzie for an afternoon of storytelling and dance.
Michael Kusugak grew up in Repulse Bay, NWT (now Nunavut). He is the author of twelve children's books, including: The Littlest Sled Dog, The Curse of the Shaman, and Northern Lights: The Soccer Trails, winner of the Ruth Schwartz Award. Lisa Odjig was is the first woman in the history of the Annual World Championship Hoop Dance contest to win World Champion Hoop Dancer in the adult female and male combined adult division.
