The Adedo Collective with contributions by The Watah Theatre is thrilled to announce the World Premiere of Dora Award winning performer Raven Dauda’s power play Addicted. Following rave reviews from a workshop presentation at The Grand Theatre in February 2018, Dauda takes the stage at the Aki Studio with an exclusive run from April 12 to 21, 2018 with a preview performance on April 11, 2018.
Addicted follows Penelope Day, an alcoholic at the end of her rope who finds herself at the mercy of Saving Grace, an unconventional rehab facility and its motley crew of residents. While in treatment, Penelope comes face to face with her inner demons, revealing the ugly truth about her family's destructive past. Leaving Penelope to question what is real, what is not, and if in fact she will survive. Written, performed and created by Dora Award winning actor Raven Dauda, Addicted is a tour-de-force multidisciplinary monodrama that will unapologetically get you hooked.
A professional actor for over twenty-five years, Raven’s illustrious career includes: Star Trek: Discovery (CBS), Falling Water (USA), Designated Survivor (ABC), Heroes Reborn (NBC), Suits (USA), Orphan Black (BBC America/Space), Mary Kills People (Shaw Media), Annedroids (Amazon/TVO), Rookie Blue (CTV), Saving Hope (CTV), Nikita (Warner Bros.), Da Kink In My Hair (Global), The Bridge (CBS), Child Star (Rhombus Media), Soul Food (Showtime), and The Natalie Cole Story (NBC). Raven has received Dora Awards for The Penelopiad (Nightwood Theatre), and Miss Julie: Freedom Summer (Canadian Stage Company/Vancouver Playhouse), and Dora Nominations for The Minotaur (YPT) and Doubt: A Parable (Canadian Stage Company). Other notable works include: 4.48 Psychosis (Necessary Angel Theatre), Tout Comme Elle (Necessary Angel & Luminato Productions), Intimate Apparel (Obsidian Theatre Company, Canadian Stage Company, The Citadel Theatre & Neptune Theatre Productions) and Da Kink In My Hair (Theatre Passe Muraille & Mirvish Productions).
