On Tuesday, May 8th at the Greg Frewin Theatre in Niagara Falls, Executive Director Emily Oriold and Artistic Director Patricia Vanstone pitched The Foster Festival to an esteemed panel of judges and were successful in winning the Top Cash Prize of $7,500 at this year's Ignite Niagara Pitch Series!
Entrepreneurs from across the region had an opportunity to apply for a chance to pitch their business ideas to win money and prizes to help take their enterprise to the next level. From the applications that were received, 6 finalists were chosen and The Foster Festival was among those finalists.
This year's Ignite Pitch Series was hosted by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and powered by Meridian Credit Union.
“We’re proud to support innovation and entrepreneurship close to home in Niagara. This pitch competition series is the perfect fit with Meridian’s programs of support for small businesses,” said Wade Stayzer, vice-president of sales and service at Meridian Credit Union. “Meridian is proud to partner with the GNCC and Niagara College to grow the next generation of entrepreneurs across Niagara.”
Following the Grand Prize Announcement, Shaun Adams, Director of Small Business at Meridian Credit Union tweeted "A big congratulations to @FosterFestival for winning the 2018 #IGNITENiagara. Great organization and a fantastic asset to the Niagara Region."
