Stage Door News
Molly Bloom, a very lonely woman is grappling to make sense of her life and relationships as she lies awake in bed. Four women perform Molly’s stream of consciousness, weaving contemporary movement and context with the lyricism of James Joyce’s classic text. We invite you inside Molly's mind as you watch her thoughts dance before you. Which thoughts are our own? What are we taught to think? Are we ever fully free, even in our minds? Come confront your own thoughts in this unapologetic piece of experiential theatre.
The ensemble fell in love with this rich text in a text analysis class at George Brown Theatre School with Peter Wylde in 2014, which prompted our staged reading in 2015, followed by a workshop production in 2016, which brings us to this fully realized iteration in 2018!
Our workshop production was described as: "a magnificent, heart-felt, dangerous ensemble performance" & "Anyone with a love of live theatre, human dynamics, seamless integration of multiple arts and great performance should go see Molly Bloom."
