Located west of Yonge Street at 250 Sheppard Avenue Deb’s is
striving to become the micro-club that will bring downtown style
hilarity to the city’s north end.
Like their website, the club itself is still technically
“under-construction” but that isn’t stopping owner Deb Bojman from
opening for discounted weekend shows for the rest of the summer.
“The makeover isn’t totally finished but we are here and ready to
welcome audiences.” says the 48-year-old impresario of Toronto’s
comedy scene.
Headlining the opening weekend is the legendary Kenny Robinson.
Chosen as Now Magazine’s Comic of the Year in 1998 Robinson has
co-hosted, (and twice been nominated for) The Gemini Awards. In
2014 Robinson received The Phil Hartman Award for his outstanding
contributions to Canadian comedy, Kenny currently hosts the Nubian
Disciples All Black Comedy Revue every month at Yuk Yuk’s on
Richmond Street.
Also scheduled on the first show are Ronnie Edwards as host, and special
guest ‘That Canadian Guy’ Glen Foster both veterans of Canadian
stand-up.
