“All of you in this room are going to die--100%.” Celeste Sansregret utters this not as a threat but as a simple fact most people prefer to ignore. Instead of her usual fictive narratives, Sansregret’s show is an autobiographical memoir focussed on her changing reactions to the deaths of friends and relatives. She begins with the Catholic dogma she was taught as a girl of the three realms of the afterlife. Telling her stories with humour, compassion and acute attention to detail, Sansregret creates poetry out of fact as she reaches her own conclusion that, indeed, the dead still live.
