Its been a crazy and amazing summer, and I'm finally bringing my award-winning one-woman show Bootlegger's Wife home to Toronto for three last performances: Sep 26-28 at the Imperial Pub!
I was incredibly honoured to be named BEST OF FRINGE at the Hamilton Fringe Festival, and thank you to all those who have been a part of the show thus far!
Come Fall, I'll be jumping into other creative ventures, so this is truly your LAST CHANCE to see the show before I hang up the beads. So come on out! Step back in time, settle into the speakeasy, and lets close this party down in swinging style!
Bootlegger’s Wife is based on the story of Bessie Starkman who joined forces with lover and business partner Rocco (King of the Bootleggers) Perri to build Canada’s largest rumrunning operation. Creator and star Victoria Murdoch is delighted to perform this Hamilton-based historical drama at the Hamilton Fringe Theatre Festival, 2014:
“On August 13th, 2012, a ‘today in history’ radio segment caught my attention. It was the anniversary of the death of Bessie Starkman, who was described as the business brains of a bootlegging empire; a woman of great intelligence, passion, strength and courage. The more I learned about Bessie, the more determined I became to put her story on stage!”
Tickets are NOW on sale: http://bootleggerswife.com/tickets.html
(Limited seating, reserving in advance is highly recommended)
Thank you again to everyone who has been a part of this theatrical journey!
Can't wait to see you all at the Pub!
